THE GRAND DUCHESS' OWN LANCERS "Tyred Horse" (R) An armoured car sqn equipped with 15 Ferrets.
THE GRAND DUKE'S OWN HUSSARS "Dead Horse"(R) Another armoured car sqn equipped with a collection of wheeled vehicles even older than Ferrets, including WWII Otters, Daimler Mk II's, Greyhounds, and M3 Scout Cars (all of which probably belong in the the Sergeant Joe Gunn Museum).
PRINCE BRENDAN'S OWN HORSE "White Horse" (A/R) A light tank sqn armed with 15 Weasel II's (and one M-1 Abrams! which is the Prince's command vehicle). 1 TP (A) is currently attached to the WEB serving as U.N. peacekeepers. GRAF PRZHEVALSKY'S TOWAROZYS "Przhevalsky's Horse" (R) A light tank sqn currently armed with 15 Wolverines and Badgers, which will receive 15 Weasel II's in 2002. Originally, this was a sqn of Towarozys (i.e., uhlans) under the command of Graf (i.e., Count) Vladimir Ivanovich Przhevalsky which came to aid the Grand Duke in the defense of the Grand Duchy in 1815. Some of its current soldiers are descendents of those in the unit at that time. The sqn is paired with 1 Dragoon Plt GDD for training and operations.THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OWN HORSE (PANZER)JÄGER "Stalking Horse" (R) Now an anti-tank sqn armed with 9 TOW-equipped Weasel II's and 6 older surplus U.S.Army Weasels. Originally, a sqn of mounted riflemen composed of Jäger (i.e., hunters) from the Weselbach Valley. The unit had been referred to simply as The Horse Jäger until 1945 when the Attorney General was named as its honorary colonel in chief. The Grand-Ducal government will neither confirm nor deny that the renaming of the unit--after the Attorney General had tried unsuccessfully for years to be made colonel in chief of any unit--had anything to due with the coincidental equipping of the 2 of the unit's plt with surplus U.S. Army Weasels when they were assigned to serve as part of the Grand Duchy's contribution to the western Allies' occupation forces in Germany, securing the territory in and around Rothenberg am Rhein.
REGIMENTAL TROOPS "Pony Tail" (A/R) The Regimental Troops is made of units--usually detached from the Support Regt--which provide administrative, logistical, and other support to the regt. They include an engineer tp "Saw Horse"; a signals tp "Morse Horse" (or "Mr. Ed"); a catering sec "Black Horse" (or "Hors(e) d'Oeuvre"); a medical sec "Charley Horse"; a searchlight sec "Dark Horse"; and a vehicle maintenance/recovery sqn "Hors(e) de Combat".
