Wotanberg Won't Shed Bearskins

The Grand Duchy of Wotanberg (WMOD) Although there are news reports that the British government is considering phasing out the bearskin hats worn by soldiers guarding various palaces, the Grand Duke of Wotanberg has emphatically stated that his country's soldiers will continue to wear their bearskin hats. These hats have been an important tradition in this small country since 1815, when they were adopted for wear by the Grenadier Foot Guards to honor the British soldiers who helped defeat Napoleon at Waterloo. The Drand Duchy's Minister of Defence added that existing stocks of the hats are available to meet the Grand Duchy's needs well into the next millenium.

David Crockett, a spokesperson for the company that provides the bearskins used to make the hats stated that no bears are killed solely to provide the skins used in the hats worn by Wotenberger soldiers. In response to a question from a journalist whose toupee is as obvious as the bearskin hats, Mr. Crockett confirmed rumors that he had killed a "bar" when he was only three.
